14th Annual Prophet Muhammad Seminar, Online

Indeed, our great pleasure to invite you for the 14th Annual Prophet Muhammad Seminar in collaboration with Keio University and Tokyo university. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the seminar will be conducted via online in the month of November 20 to December 18 (one lecture at every weekend).

A brief about JMPF seminar

The academic seminar, held annually with the cooperation of Tokyo Islamic Cultural Society (TUICS), aims to introduce and discuss the teachings of Prophet Mohammed (peace and mercy upon him) to everyone, especially Japanese community. The one-day seminar usually conducts at The University of Tokyo consists of panel discussion by young Japanese Muslims and invited lectures typically from a renowned Islamic scholar. last year, due to COVID-19 restriction, we hold the seminar via online platform in 4 weekends (November 7, 14, 21 and 29) each consisting of invited lectures.

 

A brief about JAPAN MUSLIM PEACE FEDERATION (JMPF)

 

JMPF is a non-political, non-commercial and non-government organization (NGO) founded in 2008 to coordinate different Muslim organizations, mosques and Islamic support groups all over Japan. It is voluntary body, without any membership binding, devoted to promoting and safeguarding the honor and prestige of last and final messenger of almighty Allah, Muhammad (peace and mercy be upon him).

The main activity of JMPF is to create awareness of Prophet’s tradition (Sunnah) among the Japanese public, thus JMPF annually organize lecture series all across Japan, usually by inviting foreign scholar. Typical structure of seminar is a panel discussion by young Japanese Muslims followed by an invited lecture. JMPF also publish regularly the seminar proceeding as printed booklets (3000–5000 copies) and Islamic books in Japanese language to generate a database of material about Prophet Muhammad in Japanese language. The booklets are distributed free to Japanese people who attend our meetings and lectures all over Japan. The booklets are also further distributed through our members and partner Islamic organizations and centers.

Expenses of holding seminar, inviting guest speakers and scholars, publication of seminar proceedings and booklets are met by voluntary donations and contributions from Muslims in Japan and all over the world.

Thanks to Allah, during past 13 years over hundred thousand people have learned about Quran, Sunnah and Seerah of Prophet Muhammad (Peace and Mercy be upon him). Followings are the list of previous speakers invited by JMPF.

Assalamu-alaikum,

It's our great pleasure to invite you to the 13th Annual seminar on Prophet Muhammad  peace be upon Him (Webinar due to COVID-19) scheduled to be held on the 7th, 15th, 21st and 29th November 2020. Topic: Teachings of Prophet Muhammad on Human Rights

 

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO DO?

write an essay about the topic by referring to authentic resources. The essay will be evaluated based on the contents, authenticity as well as an essay structure.

 

ELIGIBILITY AND SUBMISSION?

- Non-Muslim students and researchers of any nationality, any discipline, any universities/colleges in Japan.

- Students of senior high school and above are eligible.

- The essay should be around 1000 words with standard font size and submit as 'Microsoft word' document.

- Essays should be sent via email (tuics2000@gmail.com) before the deadline.

- A brief author profile (Name, address, affiliation, academic background) should also be sent via email.

 

WHAT IS THE PRIZE?

Best three essays will receive a cash prize:

1.First Prize=        10000 Yen

2.Second Prize=     5000 Yen

3.Third Prize=         2500 Yen

Best essays will also be included in the seminar bulletin (3000 printed copy) and will have chance to present in the 12th annual seminar on Prophet Mohammad (SAW) on October 20, 2019, at Fukutake Hall, The University of Tokyo.

・日本国内の、非ムスリムの学生および研究者(国籍・専門分野・所属は問いません)

・高校生以上の学生

 

応募方法:

・作文の言語は日本語または英語とします。

・作文は日本語1800字程度または英語1000語程度で、標準的なフォントサイズを使用して作成し、「Microsoft Word」文書として提出してください。

・作文はメールに添付し、「tuics2000@gmail.com」に送信してください。

・メールに作者の情報(氏名・住所・所属・学歴)を入力してください。

・応募締切:2019年10月4日, 正午

Eid Prayer

Assalam-O-Alaikum,

According to the decesion of ruet-e-Halal committee Japan Eid ul Fitr will be celebrated on Wednesday June 5, 2019. The moon was not sighted in Japan or Malaysia.

According to the decision of the RUET-E-Halal Committee Japan the holy month of Ramadan has already been started so Muslims in Japan would be fasting tomorrow.

Sheikh Ibrahim Zidan is a renowned Islamic scholar . He graduated from University of Cairo Egypt with a degree in Islamic studies and Arabic language. He studied under several scholars and published several books. He often appears on Islamic TV programs. He has a baclor degree in Physics from SIUE and Chemistry from Alexandria University as well as an MBA from SIUE.
